Remember creeping into the netherworld of downtown DC in the 80s at night? You parked your car by the National Portrait Gallery and hoped it was still there after the show, usually paying some dude "protection money" to watch it for you. That was when the 9:30 was new and exciting... you accepted the sketchiness of the neighborhood as part of the thrill. I miss that location, like many of you do, and wanted to pay homage to 930 F Street.
My first show there was the Fleshtones... my last was Stereolab. In between, I was lucky enough to see stellar performances by the Slickee Boys, Butthole Surfers, Bad Brains, Superchunk, Cro-Mags, the Bolshoi, among countless others. What were some of your most memorable gigs?
This is printed via Giclée, a high end archival printing process that layers inks in a similar fashion to screening. The colors POP and the image is very sharp!
Paper stock is Moab Entrada Rag Natural - a warm white, 100% cotton, slightly textured, smooth fine art surface. All available options are standard frame sizes found at your local craft store, frame shop or IKEA! (frame NOT included)
