Adams Morgan... one of my favorite playgrounds of my youth. It was where you could go always find international cuisine not readily available in the 'burbs where I lived, and usually at an affordable pricepoint! Drinks were fast and loose (and also cheap), but since then the neighborhood has predictably changed. The oft-told tale of DC's gentrification seems to have zapped a little bit of what made Adams Morgan special... maybe you feel the same way?
Chief Ike's Mambo Room held on through some wild rides though! This was truly a bar for all people. I recall splitting a pitcher of Pabst Blue Ribbon with my dear old mother right by the Ms. Pac Man machine in the back of the place. My old band Ape House had its cd release show there in 2003. The patio was always welcoming, especially during springtime's cherry blossom season, which I pay tribute to in my new print here. Can't you just breathe in the warming, fragrant air and taste the Sapporo? I sure can...
This is printed via Giclée, a high end archival printing process that layers inks in a similar fashion to screening. The colors POP and the image is very sharp!
Paper stock is Moab Entrada Rag Natural - a warm white, 100% cotton, slightly textured, smooth fine art surface. All available options are standard frame sizes found at your local craft store, frame shop or IKEA! (frame NOT included)
