Chief's Cafe Pittsburgh Giclée Art Print - 11" x 14"
Brand new design for 2020! Print size is 11" x 14", which looks awesome unmatted in a frame or in a standard 16" x 20" mat. This one is not silkscreened rather it is printed via Giclée, a high end archival printing process that layers inks in a similar fashion to screening. The colors POP and the image is very sharp!
If a bar could be a spirit animal, then Chief's Cafe in Oakland would be mine! I first stepped through the door there in 1988 and immediately felt like I was home. The jukebox had Motown soul and Husker Du... and everything on the spectrum in between. It was truly a melting pot of cultures and the vibe was one of 100% inclusion... a rare thing to find then and now. A couple of Iron City longnecks into my first visit and I knew I had found a new touchstone in my life.
As of this writing, Chief's is still around. They had been doing live music (pre-COVID), including residencies with the mighty Flow Band (rest easy, Uzell Finney, Jr.) and the place looks pretty much the same as it ever did. I have been visiting Chief's a few times a year ever since my college days, just to keep tabs. The faces have changed, but the vibe is always inviting. They don't make neighborhood bars like Chief's anymore, so we gotta cherish them while we have 'em!
The paper stock is Moab Entrada Rag Natural - a warm white, 100% cotton, slightly textured, smooth fine art surface. Paper size: 11" x 14", which fits standard frames found at your local craft store, frame shop or IKEA! (frame NOT included)
