Lansdowne Skatepark, Baltimore MD Giclée Art Print (Multi-size options)
NOTE: Please allow two weeks to ship.
Lansdowne Skatepark (aka "Sandy Hills Skate Park" or, if you are in the know, simply "The Downer") has been exacting its pound-of-flesh from skaters since 1977. Nestled off Bero Road in Lansdowne, MD, the Downer is where multiple generations of skateboarders and BMXers have honed their craft over the years... always for free.
But "free" never means that the place doesn't take a toll in return! Road rashes, broken bones, broken boards and the spectre of unwelcoming locals are all part of the contract you sign when you first push off down the snake run. Gravel, dirt, sand and the glossiness of fresh graffiti are also inherent obstacles in your path towards personal greatness... and ya know what? It's all worth it.
The Downer has been in skate video parts since the early 80s (probably earlier) and is known the world over. Pros from many eras have done their time at Lansdowne... my most recent brush was a couple of years ago when I had the place all to myself, save for H-Street's Ron Allen and his photographer! I still hit it regularly, as my tribe of skateboarding's elder statesmen all hold court in the top corner of the park (right at the ever-torn-down wire fence). It will forever be home to me...
This is printed via Giclée, a high end archival printing process that layers inks in a similar fashion to screening. The colors POP and the image is very sharp!
Paper stock is Moab Entrada Rag Natural - a warm white, 100% cotton, slightly textured, smooth fine art surface. All available options are standard frame sizes found at your local craft store, frame shop or IKEA! (frame NOT included)
